Apa yang terjadi jika presiden Bush mengunjungi Australia seharian penuh? Ada istilahnya untuk ini, walau bukan Bush sang presiden melainkan Bush sebagai semak-semak. Bahkan sebagai penutur bahasa Inggris dari Amerika Serikat ada banyak istilah bahasa Inggris Australia yang unik dan sulit untuk dipahami. Bahasa inggris Australia dipenuhi banyak ungkapan yang kadang membuat pendengar seolah seperti “drongo”, belum lagi aksennya. Berikut ini beberapa isltilah Australia yang unik, tentunya ini bukan daftar yang lengkap :

Aussie –an :  Australian

Bail (somebody) up :   menyudutkan seseorang

Bathers  :  pakaian renang

Bush week :  waktu semiggu penuh dimana orang desa datang de kota dan banyak kejadian bodoh terjadi

Cobber : teman

Dag :  orang yang lucu

Kangaroos loose in the top paddock : tidak pintar

Roo : kangguru

XXXX (four X) : sejenis bir yang dibuat di Queensland

Lalu, apa artinya “drongo” ?

Seseorang yang bodoh, kikuk dan memalukan! XP

Australia. I’m not talking about a country here, but a movie! I watched this movie yesterday, with my family.  Honestly, I thought this kind of movie will be make me bored. BUT, now I know that it’s a huge mistake. The movie is really fantastic. Supported by the starring : Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman and David Wenham. If you want to watch this movie, you have to be prepared.  Why? Because it shows around two hours and forty five minutes more or less. That was a really long story.. I didn’t know how I could stand it. Maybe, because Hugh Jackman is really sexy and also cool? So I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. Wkwkwk.. =P

The story is about  a lady named Sarah Ashley (Nicole Kidman) , a duchess from England who

own a farm named Faraway Downs in Australia, helped by a local cowboy by name Drover (Hugh Jackman). Of course there’s a deep in love relationship between them, because in the beginning of the story, Sarah thought that his husband was cheating on her. So she came to Australia. But unluckily, she found that her husband had already dead and  he got the farm as a heritage from him.

When the war was broken, Sarah had to move the cattle through the land of Australia which is really beautiful but also dangerous. And there’s someone named Neil Fletcher (David Wenham), a manager of the station who want to take over Sarah’s farm. Here we goes, all the characters had to do anything to fulfill their ambition and also love.

Really, there’s no regret to watch this movie. Actually, from the story and all of that I should say that this is a best movie I’ve ever watched. Not being hyperbolic, you know. But, It’s really rational and also really cool.

 said that this movie do have a common with Gone With the Wind  and also Cold Mountain because of the background story in this movie is the American War and also a lonely woman. And here is a interesting gossip : Nicole was really want to be the part of this movie and also being so patient that she had a baby during the shoot. Because the shot which was firstly predicted only for 5 months, because of all of the thing became 9 months. Haha,, that’s bad.. However, it is also cool, because the movie meet the successful ending, in the reality and also in the movie.

Sepanjang sejarah manusia menemukan banyak sekali hal-hal penting dan brilian untuk memudahkan hidup mereka. No, we are not talking about spacehip or supercomputer, or microchip. Kita membicarakan tentang penemuan sederhana yang terjangkau dalam hidup sehari-hari. Tanpa perlu buku manual segede bantal dan gelombang elektromagnetik yang merusak otak.. wkwkwkw ^^

 Brilian inventions in humans life :

1.     Resleting : Ditemukan oleh Withcomb Judson dan Gideon Sunback pada tahun 1851. Ini bener-bener berguna terutama kalau kita lagi kebelet pipis! =P Coba aja bayangin lu mesti buka kancing satu-satu atau lu perlu buka simpul ala pramuka yang ribet banget..

2.     BAND AID : karena melihat jari isterinya selalu terluka saat memasak, Earle Dickson menyatukan plester + kapas + antiseptik untuk membalut luka kecil jari isterinya agar tidak menyebabkan infeksi jika dibiarkan terbuka terlalu lama..

3.     SEDOTAN : manusia tuh emang kebangetan malesnya, minum tinggal tenggak aja mesti pake alat bantu.,, aneh2 aja, Thx for Marvin Stone yang iseng melinting kertas manila dan paraffin untuk pengganti sedotan kuno yang menggunakan batang gandum..

4.     LEM : menyatukan berbagai hal akan membuat hidup lebih praktis dan efisien. Lem adalah salah satu penemuan palign kuno yang membuktikan manusia ingin serba praktis dan simple alias males.. wkwk

5.     TUSUK GIGI : membuat lu tersenyum lebih lebar dari biasanya kepada hidup. Coba bayangin klo lu senyum tapi ada cabe ato bayem yang nyangkut di gigi lu.. WEkss,, jangan bayangin aja deh.,..

6.     KARET GELANG : Ini bias jadi gadi penghapus dengan cara diikat di ujung pensil, mengikat kaos kaki lu biar gak kendor XP . menguncir rambut jki kagi kepepet, n bisa jadi senjata (sekaligus alat untuk orang usil) klo dijepretkan ke organ vital lawan lu,, >.<

7.     DUIT : Sangat brilian dan tentu sangat memudahkan hidup. Ok.. ok … jangan nyambit dulu karena merasa keberadaan duit mambuat hidup jadi semakin susah,Tapiiii… lihat sisi postifnya deh,, Coba klo kita masih pake system barter, repot banget tuh,, Lu mesti bawa sapi ato kelapa kemana-mana cuma dituker sama garam misalnya.. capet hati aja.. Hoho.. =P

Wew,, emang gak nyangka.. hal yang kita kira sepele tuh ternyata memudahkan hidup kita banget.. haha.. kakayknya kita mesti mikir simple aja deh dalam menemukan sesuatu.. thx!!

I watched this movie two days ago (if I’m not mistaken) . With Maria, Yan, and Brian. Poor Maria’s boyfriend couldn’t join us because he had to go to his math class or something.. Really, I enjoyed watching this movie. Because there are a lot of amazing cars!! Poorly there aren’t my favorite kind of car. But, no too bad. Audi and Mercedes. I suppose. They’re using a good skill of driving too, made the scene is really fun to watch. I can take my eyes out of the scene. I laughed a lot too. But, Indonesia is suck (or I should say to the “lembaga pengeditan film ato pengesahan film)! They skipped the “romantic” scene!! Arghhh,,, that’s really bad.. But, mostly, I really think that this is good to watch. Get 3 ½ from 5, which is mean GOOD.

Any hope that the new “Day,” directed by Scott Derrickson from a script by David Scarpa, might also someday rise above its pulpy, corny, somber silliness rests mainly on the shoulders of Keanu Reeves. Those shoulders are perfect for filling out a dark, narrow suit, just as Mr. Reeves’s deadpan basso and permanently perplexed features make him an ideal Klaatu, as the space visitor is called. Klaatu’s job is to assist, calmly and methodically, in the extermination of the human race, a task he tries, with evident fatigue, to explain to his hysterical, violent would-be victims.

Only one will listen: Dr. Helen Benson, played with a bit too much ennui by Jennifer Connelly. Helen, an expert in astrobiology, is part of a team of scientists taken into government custody by force when a giant orb seems about to crash into the Earth. Instead it lands in Central Park, disgorging that giant metal Cyclops robot (a near replica of the one from the earlier movie) and poor Klaatu.

The secretary of defense (Kathy Bates, with Hillary Clinton’s demeanor and Sarah Palin’s hair) responds with military force, which only speeds the process of humanity’s annihilation and demonstrates that our executioners may have a point. We’re such a brutal, dumb, incorrigible life form that the only way the planet can survive is if we’re no longer on it. (In 1951 the case against us was mainly pacifist. Now the anti-militarism has a more urgent and explicit ecological dimension.) A metastasizing swarm of metal bugs — the best special effects in a movie that often looks cheap and bedraggled — is dispatched to eat us and everything we’ve made, or at least everything on the New Jersey Turnpike.

But wait, Helen pleads. We can change! To provide evidence of this transformative potential she takes Klaatu to see her mentor, Professor Barnhardt (John Cleese), a scientist who listens to Bach and was awarded a Nobel Prize for “altruistic biology.” Apparently this is the Swedish Academy’s euphemism for pimping: the good doctor’s advice to Helen about how to approach Klaatu is to “persuade him not with your reason, but with yourself.”

I've watched this movie recently with some of my friends. And I don't know why but I do like this movie. Actually,, romance and drama is not my type of my movie which I want to watch, but I just watched it. I did this in Blitz Megaplex. I did beacuse this movie was the only one which is make me interesting, better than the other and It suit me (the time, i meant). Here is the review of the movie :

Adapted by Ann Peacock and John Romano from the Nicholas Sparks novel and directed by George C. Wolfe (the former producer of the Public Theater, who fared better with his HBO movie “Lackawanna Blues”), “Nights in Rodanthe” revolves around the unhappily married Adrienne (Ms. Lane), who leaves her two nauseating children with her husband to baby-sit a North Carolina coastal inn owned by a friend (Ms. Davis), who has gone off for weekend sex with a muscled bit player. A hurricane is a-coming and so is Paul (Mr. Gere), one of those lonely Jaguar-driving geniuses of the operating room. The hurricane hits, and the shutters bang open and shut, which would be funnier if this film didn’t insist that the only road to a woman’s happiness runs up her legs.

You know the rest: trembling lips, delicate lovemaking, pop-song montage. Ms. Lane and Mr. Gere smile bravely and fumble like teenagers but are defeated by the scripted clichés and lack of focused direction. Mr. Wolfe seems as uncomfortable with the material as his leads are, though it’s impossible to know if he’s uninterested in this romance or whether his disjointed storytelling is a result of post-production triage.

I don't know why,, but, recently, I watched movies with child actors.. I found it that they're so cute,, beside, the movie are really good. The stories and also the movies itself.. wkwkwk..

btw, I watched the movies at home of course,, the dvd movies.. I watched a lot since I have no activity for school and I reached home earlier this week..

Here are the movies I watched :

THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES

“The Spiderwick Chronicles,” adapted from books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, represents the latest such effort.It conjures a world of fanciful creatures — some benign, others hostile — and introduces into it a group of squabbling human siblings (played by Sarah Bolger and Freddie Highmore) who have moved into a spooky old house in the middle of nowhere, along with their newly divorced mother, Helen (Mary-Louise Parker).

A previous resident of the house was one Arthur Spiderwick (David Strathairn), a scholar of the invisible world of sprites and goblins and the author of an encyclopedic reference book on their ways. That book, locked away in a secret room, is coveted by Mulgarath, commander of a bloodthirsty monster crew, who wants to use Spiderwick’s lore to wipe out all the cute little elves and fairies, and the children as well.

Why? Well, just because. Mulgarath takes many different forms, the most frightening of which is surely the person of Nick Nolte. But his malevolence is less scary than routine, as is the anxious twittering of Thimbletack, a honey-eating house spirit (voiced by Martin Short), and the jokey gregariousness of Hogsqueal, a porcine fellow with the voice of a suddenly overexposed Seth Rogen. Joan Plowright also shows up briefly as a wise and witchy old lady who clears up a few mysteries and leaves a few more in her wake."

If you haven't watched it,, and you really like fantasy things.. you have to watch it.. really,, the stories is interesting and the graphic at the movie also good. you're not going to regret it.. Btw, if you paid attention carefully, you'd found that Freddie Highmore played Simon and Jared.. because in the story they're twins,, so he had to play two diffrent role all in one. ^^

THE SEEKER : THE DARK IS RISING

The forces of Light and Dark are at it again in “The Seeker,” David L. Cunningham’s stilted fantasy about a pubescent lad charged with defeating evil and earning millions of dollars for an American movie studio. Let’s all try to recall where we’ve heard that before.On the eve of his 14th birthday, everything changes for Will Stanton (Alexander Ludwig), an American living in Britain with his extremely large family. (Naturally, Will is the seventh son of a seventh son, so the old-woman-who-lived-in-a-shoe vibe is essential, if distracting.) When darkening skies and a masked horseman (Christopher Eccleston) get between Will and his crush (Amelia Warner), he is dismayed to learn that he is really a warrior who must find six signs and release the Light. From where is anybody’s guess. Feebly assisted by a bunch of dodderers known appropriately as the Old Ones, Will braves a Viking war and 1,000 slithering snakes. Yet despite the creepiness of a scene featuring a pair of morphing mall security guards, John Hodge’s screenplay is frequently dreary and overly literal. Will’s Googling of “the light and the dark” is only the most risible example.

Because of the art festival which is being held by my school,, each class have to make at least 3 things (anything but about art ). And in my class, Maria and I have to make one.. And you all have to know that i'm so lazy.. So I told Maria that we can use my oil painting which has just done by me recently. Hehe.. ^^V So I don't have to make another one.. All we have to do is just make it better or just do nothing.. wkwkwk
